Fat Injections

Fat injections are a way of using the fat that has been sucked out of other parts of your body from liposuction -- from those areas such as your thighs, buttocks and abdominal area.
Rather than waste the fat it can be used to plump up lines in the face to give a smoother appearance.
Alternatively the dermatologist can withdraw the fat from a particular area to reinject where needed.

Deep lines running between the nose and mouth, or the mouth and the chin, can be filled with this fat.

As the fat has come from your own body there is generally no problem with getting it injected back into other areas.

Not a lot of fat is required to fill these indentations of the face and it can also be used to help repair scars too.

It is generally a relatively quick procedure and quite painless.
The dermatologist will anesthetize the area first before removing the fat, and once the fat has been extracted they will purify it to remove blood or any other material that is not required.
You will often need a top up, with a return visit to your specialist to check that the fat has gone in evenly.

Different results can be expected from every individual with some people finding that the fat injections will last a few months whereas others can see their results lasting for up to half a year.

It is never permanent as the fat will eventually begin to dissipate into the surrounding skin tissue.

Repeated treatments will generally last longer.

You will need to select a good dermatologist as the final result will be determined by their ability to make a good job distributing fat evenly to the area they are repairing.

Any surgical procedure no matter how small relies on the ability of the surgeon to do a good job -- obviously; so do your research well beforehand.
